Pimax, renowned for its high-performance VR technology, showcased its latest innovation, the Crystal Super headset, at CES2025. This event provided the global media with their first experience of the 29 million pixel VR headset.
The Revolutionary Crystal Super
Pimax’s newest flagship, the Crystal Super, boasts an impressive resolution of 3840×3840 per eye. This makes it the first VR headset to achieve retina-level clarity. The headset features glass aspheric lenses, delivering 57 PPD with over 120° horizontal field of view and a remarkable brightness of 280 nits.
Early Access for Global Media
The Crystal Super DVT2 model, which stands for Design Validation Test #2, was presented at CES with all functions operational except for eye-tracking. Final optimizations are still underway. Prominent international media outlets like Linus Tech Tips, CNN, TechRadar, PC Gamer, PC Mag, Heise, and Gaming Nexus, along with content creators, were among the first to experience the headset’s groundbreaking clarity, brightness, and wide field of view.

The Crystal Super is equipped with interchangeable optical engines, allowing for quick swapping of panels and lenses in seconds. The 57 PPD QLED version, demonstrated at CES, will be available soon, with the 50 PPD QLED and micro-OLED versions also shipping in the first quarter of 2025.
