Production of “F1” Completes at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Apple Original Films’ eagerly awaited movie “F1,” featuring Brad Pitt, has completed filming at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
Film to Premiere in June 2025
The global premiere of “F1” is scheduled for theaters in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures on June 27, 2025.
Collaboration with Formula 1 and Notable Producers
Produced in association with Formula 1® and seven-time world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton, the film includes contributions from Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Plan B Entertainment. The star-studded cast includes Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Filming at Yas Marina Circuit
The Yas Marina Circuit, home to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, served as a filming location. A crew of 284 people, including Pitt and Idris, spent a total of 29 days shooting in Abu Dhabi.
Partnerships and Global Distribution
Following the conclusion of the 2024 Formula 1 season, Apple Original Films announced the completion of “F1” production. The film is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in theaters and IMAX® in North America from June 27, 2025, and will be available internationally starting June 25, 2025.
A Star-Studded Cast and Production Team
Set in the thrilling world of Formula 1, “F1” stars Brad Pitt as a former driver making a comeback alongside Damson Idris. The cast also features Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski
Joseph Kosinski, known for “Top Gun: Maverick,” directs the film. He collaborates with producers including Sir Lewis Hamilton, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and the team at Plan B Entertainment.
Supporting Local Talent and Film Industry
The production, which spanned 29 days in Abu Dhabi, was supported by a local crew of 284 people and 15 young interns. It’s one of 170 major productions backed by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission since 2013.
