Van Cleef & Arpels Opens First Barcelona Boutique

Stunning Façade Inspired by Gaudí

Reflecting Barcelona’s rich history, the store’s façade is adorned with an extensive mosaic created by Mathilde Jonquière. Inspired by Gaudí’s masterpieces, visible in Park Güell and Casa Batlló, the artist created three frescoes from glass paste tesserae, forming a colorful cameo in shades of white, cream, gold, and platinum.

Elegant Interior Design

Upon entering, visitors are greeted by Corteccia, a custom-made chandelier by Veronese, composed of nine Murano crystal tubes. This guides them to the library and various rooms. The boutique’s second floor invites visitors to explore Van Cleef & Arpels’ creations, elegantly displayed in showcases and under glass chandeliers.

Mosaic Artistry

Surrounding the displays with these exquisite designs, the mosaics depict clouds arranged in a pattern that blends transparency with opalescence, matte with shiny finishes. The tesserae, meticulously placed and glued by hand using the “trencadís” technique, interact with the city lights, resembling real clouds pierced by sunlight.

Private and Luxurious Spaces

A hidden private area, furnished with plush armchairs and a dark wood bookcase, offers a discreet space separated by a decorative partition with openwork geometric designs inspired by the clerestory motif from a 1937 Minaudière.

Showcasing Iconic Collections

Van Cleef & Arpels’ signature collections, including Perlée, Alhambra, and Frivole, as well as watchmaking masterpieces showcasing their craftsmanship, are displayed in this Art Deco-inspired setting, providing a serene and timeless experience.
