Scrambler® Ducati Stuns at London Event
At the 2024 London Bike Shed MotoShow, Scrambler® Ducati introduced two daring new concepts. These designs from Centro Stile Ducati, built on the second-generation Scrambler® base, illustrate the importance of customization in Ducati’s post-heritage era.
CR24I: A Nod to Café Racer Legacy
The CR24I concept embodies the classic Café Racer style, evolving from the 2017 Scrambler of the same name. Its design takes cues from the legendary British bikes of the 1960s, where riders competed to finish a block lap before a song on the jukebox ended.
Developed entirely at Centro Stile Ducati, the CR24I showcases the adaptable Scrambler® mechanics. This version features a 17″ front rim with road tyres and sporty clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors. The tank-mounted fairing, narrow and wrap-around, pays homage to Ducati icons like the Pantah and the 750 SS, reimagined for a contemporary, post-heritage aesthetic.
The seat transforms into a single-seater with a detachable cover for the passenger section, reminiscent of the ‘panettone’ saddles from 1970s sports bikes. The color scheme resonates with fans of the 1960s British rocker imagery.
RR24I: Embracing Post-Apocalyptic Themes
The RR24I draws inspiration from the post-apocalyptic worlds of film and TV. Its minimalist and functional design stands in contrast to the CR24I’s clean lines. The RR24I brings enthusiasts back to the essence of motorcycling: two wheels, a tank, an engine, and handlebars, embodying the freedom inherent in the Scrambler® spirit.
Aluminium elements are accentuated, showcasing the raw materials that define this concept’s authenticity. The tank lacks covers, replaced by a frame to hold a tank bag for essentials, emphasizing its practical and adventurous nature. The passenger seat transforms into a luggage rack, highlighting the concept’s rugged spirit.
At the rear, a case on the left mimics repurposed jerry cans, while a high-mounted Termignoni exhaust enhances its tracker appeal. This look is completed with Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres on 18″ and 17″ rims, paired with a high, short front mudguard, ready for any terrain.
London Bike Shed MotoShow: A Hub for Custom Culture
Both concepts are on display during the London Bike Shed MotoShow from May 24 to 26. Launched in 2013 as a special culture celebration, the show has become a major global event over the past decade.
The 2023 edition was notably successful, attracting over 17,000 visitors and showcasing more than 300 unique motorcycles from across the globe.
Scrambler®: A Perfect Blend of Accessibility and Style
Ducati’s Scrambler® models are ideal for those wanting a motorcycle that reflects their individuality with a distinctive design. These bikes are dynamic, fun, and safe for daily use, appealing to those who value freedom and personal expression.
In Italy, the “Ducati Ride Time” financial plan is available for the Scrambler® Icon, Nightshift, and Full Throttle models. Customers can make a down payment of around 50% and decide after two years whether to keep the bike or choose a new Ducati. Test rides can be booked via the official website.
Engine and Performance Enhancements
The Desmodue engine has been upgraded with a smoother, more compact clutch, providing extra space for the rider’s foot. The new Scrambler® also features technical improvements, reducing the total weight by 4 kg for better handling.
Advanced Riding Features
With the addition of Ride by Wire throttle management, the new Scrambler® delivers quick and progressive engine response at any speed. This system supports Ducati Traction Control, offering two Riding Modes that alter the bike’s character. Standard features include ABS cornering for enhanced safety.
Stay Connected with the Scrambler® Community
The dedicated Scrambler® website has been updated both graphically and functionally to advance its digital presence, maintaining a connection with the “Land of Joy” community.
