The latest versions of the model utilize materials from Stone Island’s rich archive, spanning collections from 1987-1989. The design incorporates a multi-textural approach to New Balance’s historic silhouette, with slight updates. Features include a Nubuck overlay on a ripstop upper, inspired by an AW ’88’89 archive shell created entirely in a layer of heat-sealed PVC. The New Balance ‘N’ logo takes its texture from the rubber elbow patch of a SS ’88 RAW CANVAS blouson, concluding the design with a nylon tongue and terry collar, inspired by the iridescent AW ’88’89 NYLON RIPSTOP short parka.
