Introduction to Blue Book 2023
Tiffany & Co. has recently introduced the Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue, marking the newest addition to their renowned high jewelry collection. This collection, the first under the direction of Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry, honors Jean Schlumberger’s deep connection with oceanic life through imaginative and geometric designs.
Honoring Jean Schlumberger
“The Blue Book 2023 allowed us to pay tribute to Jean Schlumberger by revitalizing some of his most iconic designs,” explained Anthony Ledru, CEO of Tiffany & Co. “These pieces, while echoing Schlumberger’s style, are completely new creations. We believe they would have delighted him just as much as they do us.”
Collection Themes and Designs
The Shell Theme
The Shell theme, inspired by the ocean’s sculpting of objects, includes versatile jewelry such as a pendant that doubles as a diamond brooch, unveiling a magnificent 21-carat black opal.
The Coral Theme
Vivid with colors, the Coral theme showcases designs with tanzanites, sapphires, and yellow diamonds, mirroring the vibrant underwater coral life.
The Jellyfish Theme
Capturing the ethereal beauty of jellyfish, this theme includes a brooch that reflects the gentle sway of jellyfish tentacles.
The Pisces Theme
This theme explores the mysterious oceanic depths that fascinated Schlumberger, featuring jewelry with warm-toned unenhanced padparadscha and Umba sapphires, complemented by diamonds.
The Star Urchin and Starfish Themes
The Star Urchin theme reflects ocean drama with tanzanites and chalcedony crafted into spiky designs reminiscent of a sea urchin, while the Starfish theme reimagines starfish amidst rocky crevices using opals, aquamarines, tourmalines, and diamonds.
The Sea Star Theme
Highlighting a sea bed scene, this theme incorporates mother-of-pearl starfish amidst coral-inspired designs, enhanced by rare sapphires and carnelians.

A New Vision by Nathalie Verdeille
“In this first Blue Book collection I’ve created, we delve into the ocean’s majesty and mystery, staying true to Schlumberger’s vision yet bringing our own interpretation to life,” stated Nathalie Verdeille.
